The Spyderco Native gives you the cutting power of a large knife in a small package at a very affordable price. When it comes to choosing a knife to carry everyday, you have a lot of very good options. The Native shines as one of my all time favorite folding knives and here is why.
Spyderco offers the Native folding knife in either VG-10 stainless steel, or the beloved S30V steel. Each of these steels are top notch and will not disappoint. Keep in mind the the VG-10 version of the Native comes with a fully flat-ground blade and beautiful carbon fiber handles. You will pay a little bit extra for this version of the Native, but it is worth every penny.
Folding Crib
The S30V version of the Native comes with a hollow ground blade and textured FRN handles. This version costs less money mostly because of the handle material. It is debatable whether S30V is a better steel than VG-10.
One of the features that I love most about the Spyderco Native is the ergonomically designed handle. It has a nice and deep finger choil right before blade starts that is just about perfect for getting an awesome grip on your knife. The jimping or thumb grooves on the spine of the blade are designed very well and allow the user to get some good traction for making precise and accurate cuts.
The Spyderco Native has been manufactured for many years now, and for good reason. The knife comes hair shaving sharp right out of the box and is the perfect tool for a wide variety of tasks.
